Care of Braces
If you thought brushing was important before getting braces, you're right. Individuals undergoing orthodontic treatment should pay more attention to their oral hygiene. There is more food accumulation on teeth with braces. If plaque is not removed from the teeth and braces, they lead to gum disease, decay and bad breath. Plaque is a mixture of bacteria, debris and food particles. Bacteria feed on sugar, produce acid, make the gums sick, damage the enamel layer of the tooth, and cause bad breath in the mouth. Regular and proper cleaning of the plate is important. Thus, when the braces come out, the underlying tooth is healthy and strong.
